Alex : The musician?

A little late i know, but for last week's theme of album covers, I made Alex come out as my model so I could get somoe portrait like shots and I'm so pleased with how they turned out. He'll just have to start recording so he can use one for an album cover.

Here are some of my favorites from that shoot :)

Album Covers

I've been excited about the new theme all night of creating an album cover and just had to try it out with a couple of pictures from Sunday and one from my trip home in October. I love how they turned out and I can't wait to get out shooting this weekend so I can try out a few more! :)

Cleveland Park and water fountains

As the weather starts to cool off, Alex and I have been trying to get out every weekend and enjoy what's left of fall before all the leaves are gone. Sunday afternoon, we walked from Falls Park to Cleveland park and I convinced Alex to take a couple of me playing in the leaves.

I also got this great water fountain shot for the Periodic Table theme this week. It's funny how some shots are just so much more amazing in black and white!

Ashley & Aaron Part 1

Ashley is one of my superclose friends from my time at Acadia, and when she started dating my next door neighbor Aaron, we were predicting their wedding right away. So when she announced their engagement last winter and asked me to be a bridesmaid, I was thrilled to make the trip to Nova Scotia to be a part of their wedding.

Here are some of the shots from while we were getting ready.

I think this is my favorite shot of the whole day. What a beautiful moment!

On the Fence

This week's theme is Fences and it's such a great theme on so many levels. Fences are about control: keeping people and/or things inside a space; or keeping people and/or things out of a space. Sometimes they're ornamental, decorative and beautiful and other times they're harsh, cold and even at times dangerous - but when you look past the appearance, it's about control.

Fences also have their place in the figurative world. People are often described as being "on the fence" about something... stuck between two different options and trying to determine which side to land on.

After our trip to the farmer's market this morning, we decided that we had to find something to do outside so we could enjoy the beautiful, warm, fall day so we went for a walk through Cleveland Park, people watching and looking for fences. I ended up finding some great shots along the way.

This is the title shot - I named it as soon as I took it... yes I'm OCD like that somtimes...

I thought this one was totally appropriate for the day after Halloween.

And this one just reminds me of the Smashing Pumpkins lyric "Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage"
