Backyard

Since this week's theme is "backyard", I felt it was my duty to continue taking pictures of the garden. The peonies took center stage, of course, being my favorite flower.

Of course I didn't JUST take pictures of the peonies... here are a couple of the other things currently blooming

Peonies!!!!

I suppose this post is mostly for my mom, but the peonies are starting to bloom here and being that they are my all-time favorite flower, as soon as I saw the first blossoms out in the yard I ran downstairs to grab my camera and I was out the door in a flurry of pollen dust. For anyone who might be curious, these were taken very shortly after the sun went below the horizon but while there was still lingering daylight left.

Greetings from Paradise

This week's theme is Picture Postcard, so I convinced Alex to take me for a drive in search of the perfect Vermont postcard view. Here are a few of my favorites!

Iris

One of my favorite flowers has to be the Iris. They are stunning and the colors are so vivid! Right now, there are a ton of them in bloom here, so yesterday I brought my camera out hoping to do them some justice.

And I have one rose picture, because I absolutely love it.

berry patch

Yesterday I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things, and was super excited to see fresh, local strawberries, so I had to pick some up. Don't they look heavenly?!!?

How does your garden grow?

Since this week's theme is "In the Garden", I was back outside today taking more pictures in my mother-in-law's garden and I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out. If the weather stays nice, I'm hoping to get back out again later tonight with some yummy light :)

Garden Party

Last week my mother-in-law asked me to take pictures of the flowers she was missing in her garden while she was away on vacation, so I got out my camera and got up close and personal in her gardens. Since then, more things have come into bloom and hopefully this weekend, I'll get back out to take some new pictures.

Crawford Notch/Mt Willard

On Memorial Day, Alex and I decided to go hiking in Crawford Notch. As a kid, he used to hike up Mt Willard and had lots of great memories there, so we decided that was the mountain for us.... The whole way up, I was sure we'd made a horrible mistake, the trail was rocky and seemed to never end, and Alex was not so pleased with my repeated "are we there yet?" questions. But when we got to the top, oh boy was it worth it. The views were incredible and I promptly forgot (almost) how horrible the hike up was. Thankfully the way back down was no where near as bad as the hike up. And for making it to the top, Alex got me a new LL Bean Appalachian Mountain Club fleece :)

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the trip:
