Star Fruit Fresh

My contest entry this week happened by happenstance. When we were grocery shopping on Sunday, they happened to have Starfruit on sale. Alex had never tried one before and seemed intrigued so I decided to continue my effort to expand his culinary repertoire that we must pick one up. However, when Tuesday came and the outer fingers of Faye were blowing thunderstorms, tornados and torrential rain through the Upstate, I needed something to take my mind off the potential upgrade from tornado watch to tornado warning. So I did what any sane person would do and cut up the fruit for an impromptu photoshoot on our balcony ;)

Season Closer

We went to one of the last home games for the Greenville Drive on Sunday. Unfortunately it was a brutal loss but we still had a good time. I picked only a couple of the 300+ pics from the day to share :)

Stellar Skies

I've been a bad blogger. It's been over a week! I've really just been slack on the photo-a-day challenge and haven't been bringing my camera with me when we do head out to do stuff. Granted, we have pretty much been plastered in front of the TV for most of the last two weeks watching the Olympics - each cheering for our own country. I did cheer for the US when Canadians weren't competing though - as a kind of peace offering to my new country.

Today we went to watch one of the last Drive games of the season so I brought along my camera and I'll have some pics up on that in the next day or so. For today though, as a peace offering, the skies this evening in Greenville after the game - stunning blue with odd clouds.

When shoes make it into speeches about you at your wedding, that's when you know you've got it bad.... Today I got these beauties for my friend Ashley's wedding this fall where I'm going to be a bridesmaid. Aren't they wonderful?

Pool Party

Our good friend Josh moved down South last week so we've been enjoying his company the past few days. Since it was so hot out this afternoon, we decided to head to the pool for some fun before supper. I brought my camera hoping to catch some good motion shots and I wasn't disappointed.
