Fall Leaves
While I was home, I really enjoyed the vibrant fall leaves.

It seems like such a strange combination, but they both have their places as things that seem truly Nova Scotian to me. My parents' apple tree will always have a special place in my heart... partially cause it's the only one I couldn't kill with the ride-on mower as a kid.... and partially because of the memories of going out to the apple tree after school in the fall and picking out the perfect apple for an after school snack.
And then there's lobster. I don't actually like to eat it.... which almost seems sacreligious coming from someone who grew up 15 minutes from the coast and a lobster pound. But Alex loves it, so while we were home in lobster country, it was high on my priority list to get fresh lobster for him. Ironically, even though I don't like it, I am more skilled at getting the meat from the shell. At least that part must run in my Maritimer veins ;)

I'm hoping to get some apple tree and lobster supper pics up on my blog later tonight, but in case that doesn't happen, I thought I'd share one I took in my parent's back yard of Alex. I love how blue his eyes are in this one :)

I'm back in South Carolina after my whirlwind trip to Nova Scotia with a ton of pictures to share!
Up first are a few of the many photos I took of the adorable baby Abi. I'm blessed to have amazing friends and Abi's mom Andrea is one of the best. She knew my trip was going to be hectic and drove several hours so I could see her and meet Abi. I just wish we lived closer so I could see her more often.
Isn't she precious?
